The Lady Seis Mysteries

The Lady Seis mysteries are a delightful series of cozy historical mysteries with magic and plenty of comedy to spice things up. They center on Sybil Trevor, Baroness of Seis, who lives in London as a guest of the queen during the reign of Elizabeth I, and her maid Skade of Oslo, a former beggar. Spanning the social spectrum between them, they run into all kinds of interesting people who need help solving their interesting problems.

The Lady Seis mysteries are lighthearted whodunits set in a fascinating period of history with two fun leads and a cast of intriguing characters, some of whom are magical. It's also an amusing read, a place where someone can draw herself up to full height and explain that of course she wouldn't poison someone at the banquet; that would be tacky

The books have minimal violence, a bit of spicy language, and no sex. There's nothing that would be inappropriate for kids, although the words may be too big and the sentences too complex for young children.

Seasons of Music and Mystery

The streets of Tudor London hide many secrets, good and bad, natural and otherwise, and those who seem most blessed may not be. Take Sybil Trevor, Baroness of Seis and guest of the Queen. You might imagine she has nothing better to do than play her music, compose her songs, and be waited on by her troubled but loyal maid, Skade. But she does have a few problems:
A priceless vase has disappeared
Magpies as smart as people are looting the palace
Her ruff needs starching
A fake guard got into the gardens
Two good men are bent on dueling to the death
Her harp’s a bit out of tune
And it’s only Tuesday…
