Waiting on the cover Near Misses. Near Misses is a compilation of my stories that got an honorable mention in the Writers of the Future Contest.
Up Next
The next book will be another in the Flying Star Adventure series, tentatively titled Infernal Machines. One story will be Bite of a Venomous Creature, with the hero being Dhruv the sapera. The second will be Fair Means or Foul, currently partially plotted, A Stella Baker adventure set at the tri-state fair. Ghost robbers and an inexplicable flying disk are disrupting the fair. Can Stella get to the bottom of things before the mastermind behind it all strikes his grand blow?
The third story will be tentatively Sourdough for a Square John, a story of PI Chris Baker against a counterfeiting operation.
After that, there are two possibilities:
Mississippi Undertow: It was a solid plan: buy and refurbish an old paddle steamer for a song, and send it up and down the Mississippi to entertain tourists and gamblers. And to make things above-board, invite the reporter who sent you to prison for the maiden voyage. But E.B. Baker doesn't come, although her daughter does. And criminals have gotten wind of the inadequate security. When they spring their trap, the steamer is left with no communications, steering, or propulsion, drifting down a fast current straight into a lock gate. Can Stella Baker salvage the situation?
